Bill claimed
that Ken Ham’s model was absolutely not viable, while, Ken Ham, surprisingly,
claimed that it was the only viable. Ken Ham relied mostly on the Bible. He
poked holes to the atheist model to make his model plausible. Bill Nye used
hard evidence to prove that he is right, while Ham mostly relied on theory. Ken
Ham’s theory doesn’t make any sense, and yet he claims that only his model
should be thought in schools. In the last 20 minutes of the debate, you could
see that Bill Nye was simply fed up (like me) of Ham’s shear stubbornness.
Official data says that 86% of the crowd watching thinks Bill Nye won the
debate.
Bill Nye on the
questionability of a land-bridge or oceanic kangaroos:“This giant boat —
this very large wooden ship — [allegedly] went aground safely on a mountain in
what we now call the Middle East, and so places like Australia now are
populated by animals that somehow managed to get from the Middle East all the
way to Australia in the last 4,000 years. Now that, to me, is an extraordinary
claim. Somewhere between the middle East and Australia, we would expect to find
evidence of kangaroos!”
The whole debate
started by Nye’s discussion of Ham’s theory via Youtube. Ham retracted by also
posting a video and challenging Bill to debate him. When going through the
creation museum (museum of Ham’s theory) Bill Nye said: “There are dinosaurs, in this
museum, living in harmony with Adam and Eve. I find that quite disturbing.”
